Datacenter Farm / Interruption Profiles & Uptime

How field gas interruption profiles map to compute uptime.

Field gas is not a single commodity. Casinghead gas from a single pad fluctuates with oil production and pauses during rod or pump workovers; a tap on a multi-well gathering header averages out individual well swings but can still see downstream compressor station maintenance; and a residue-gas tap downstream of a processing plant offers dry, pipeline-quality fuel with high availability.

Writing down the exact interruption profile your compute economics can absorb keeps you from overpaying for firm pipeline gas when a curtailable gathering tap fits, or under-designing fuel backup when your workload carries strict customer uptime commitments.

Send your uptime and interruption boundaries

State your net power target, acceptable interruption profile, and target basin. We read it and reply by email or phone with one or two questions. Nothing goes to anyone else without your permission. Sending creates no obligation.

What to note in the description box:

  • Target monthly or annual availability percentage and maximum single-event outage duration.
  • Whether your generators can dual-fuel or auto-switch to on-site propane/NGL storage during short gas interruptions.
  • Minimum notice needed before planned field maintenance or pipeline pigging.
  • Target volume in Mcf/day or MMBtu/day and acceptable pressure range at the delivery valve.
